Los Camiones de Gancho (Skip-Loaders) están desarrollados y diseñados para transportar contenedores de residuos sólidos que no son compactables. Es por esto que tiene una estructura con brazos extensibles (modificables). Estos se pueden fabricar en posición horizontal o vertical según el estado de la carga. Seis cilindros hidráulicos y neumáticos soportan los sistemas de sujeción de ganchos disponibles en el equipo.
Los cargadores de volquete suelen ser vehículos pequeños, a menudo más pequeños que un automóvil estándar. Los brazos que controlan la pala se adelantan desde la parte trasera del camión y asientan el contenedor sobre el vehículo desde atrás.

Diseño
Un camión Skip Loader es un tipo de camión que está equipado con un brazo mecánico y un contenedor grande, para recolectar y transportar desechos. Estos camiones se usan comúnmente en operaciones de reciclaje y gestión de desechos para recolectar y transportar basura, escombros de construcción y materiales reciclables. El brazo mecánico de un Skip-Loader está montado en la parte trasera del camión y se usa para levantar y mover los contenedores.
